Some day I will miss having 6 adults living under one roof.
Some day I will miss mountains of dirty clothes on laundry day. No baskets full of socks to match. Few clean, fluffy towels to fold. Some day I'll miss running from room to room looking for enough coat hangers to hang clean dresses and shirts on.
Some day I'll have 3 or 4 clean guest bedrooms. Empty closets instead of closets packed to the brim with dresses, sweaters and tennis shoes, too many to count.
Someday my bathrooms will stay clean and unused for weeks at a time.
Some day I'll be counting the days, hours and minutes when my children will arrive with the grandchildren. I'll look forward to cooking a meal again for hungry grandchildren. I'll be glad to fill the dishwasher up with dishes from a family gathering.
Some day there won't be 30 pairs of shoes in the back entry. Some day there won't be kayaks hanging in the garage from the ceiling. Someday I won't be buy 6 tubs of ice cream at Braums. I'll have to hang on to every ice cream bucket because it will take my hubby and I months to empty a bucket of ice cream. Someday I'll miss having a whole beef in the freezer because we can't use it up before it's freezer burned.
Someday I'll miss having our yard look like a used car lot. Someday I'll miss having our living room look like a book store. Someday I'll miss buying the biggest packs of toilet paper and Kleenex available…. and umpteen pounds of butter.
I'm going to count my blessings today because these days of having 6 adults at the dinner table are not going to last forever. Someday the arguments at the kitchen bar about who gets to sit next to dad will end.
Someday I'll miss all the endless, deep discussions at family devotions. Someday I'll miss all the “rabbit trail discussions” that happen while we try to stay on topic during devotions.
Someday I'll miss the late night knocks on the bedroom door because someone can't find the strawberry jam that I just threw away while cleaning out the fridge.
Someday I'll miss all the pets in the house…each child says they're taking one when they leave home. (I'll never miss the dog and cat hair ok?!) But I might miss all the noise and mess and get myself a little puppy to keep my sanity.
So today I am counting my blessings because not everyone has the privilege of having 6 adults living under one roof. Thank you Jesus!
Loved it. (especially the part about the grandchildren lol)
Someday..somehow gratitude fits♥️
